What is the Kibo to English Phrase Substitution Translator Online?

This is a conversational text tool that performs list-based substitution between English and Kibo/Igbo-influenced wording. You paste text, say which direction you want, and it replaces entries it can match from a paired phrase list and a paired word list, leaving everything else untouched. It works from the documented pairs shown in its instructions plus any pairs you supply in the conversation; it does not contain the complete original 2487-line phrase list or 696-line word list, so coverage is partial and the tool says so. It is a substitution tool, not a grammar engine: it does not conjugate verbs, build sentences, or claim scholarly accuracy about the Kibo language.

Key Features

  • Two-way substitution. English to Kibo and Kibo to English, using the same pairs inverted.
  • Stated matching order. Longest phrase first, then shorter phrases, then single words, then numerals, so "my lover" is handled as a phrase rather than word by word.
  • Number handling. Digits and number words map to Kibo numerals, for example 1 to otu and 10 to iri.
  • Preservation reporting. Every character that is not part of a matched entry stays in the output, and the tool lists what it replaced and what it left alone.
  • Copyable output blocks. Converted text arrives in a plain code block you can copy directly.

How to Use

  1. Paste your text and name the direction, for example "English to Kibo: my lover" or "Kibo to English: kedu ezemu gị". If you do not name a direction, the tool infers it from the script and wording and tells you which way it went.
  2. Read the converted block first. Below it you get a short substitution report: matched entries, unmatched spans, and any entry that could not be reversed cleanly.
  3. Ask for a refinement in the same conversation, such as "keep casing exactly as I typed it" or "show me only the unmatched words".

Example Use Cases

  • Phrase lookup for a greeting. You want to know how "good to hear" or "how is your family" appears in the paired list before using it in a message.
  • Number word conversion. You are writing a short line and need 11, 20 or 100 rendered as iriotu, ogiri or narị.
  • Reverse checking. You received Kibo-style text such as "nwanne m" and want the English entry it pairs with, plus a warning if more than one English entry shares that form.

Tips for Best Results

  • Give the direction explicitly. It removes any ambiguity when a token could belong to either list.
  • Keep requests short and paste the exact text you want converted; the tool preserves your spacing and punctuation rather than tidying it.
  • If a word comes back unchanged, it simply is not in the paired lists. Ask for the unmatched list to see exactly what was skipped.
  • Supply your own pairs when you need coverage beyond the documented ones; your pairs override documented pairs on conflict and the tool notes the override.

FAQ

What input format does it accept?
Plain text in the chat. Long passages are converted in labeled parts so you can see exactly where each part begins and ends; no text is dropped or silently truncated.

How accurate is the result?
It is exact for entries that exist in the paired lists, because substitution is applied mechanically and checked. It is not a translation of arbitrary sentences, and it does not verify cultural or historical claims. Unlisted words pass through unchanged by design.

What does this tool do that a plain two-box converter does not show?
It states its precedence order, preserves unmatched characters, and reports each substitution so you can audit the result. It also flags Kibo forms that map to more than one English entry, such as bi na, and shows every candidate instead of picking one silently.

Does it produce audio or fonts?
No. Output is plain text only.
