Felo SuperAgent on QoderWorkQoderWork

The document needs a figure, and the figure is a job of its own

A report, a proposal, a template — they all need imagery, and it is the slowest thing to get right. Felo SuperAgent runs that work on a persistent canvas, so your local file gets the asset without the document waiting on it.

QoderWork runs on your machine and edits local docx and pptx files. A Felo skill supplies the half a local file cannot: current sources, transcripts, and assets that land beside your document.

One request, and the run lives outside your files

The bundle is small; the work is not. QoderWork places the folder, and the canvas holds the state, which is what keeps a long image job from living inside a document's revision history.

You

Please download https://github.com/Felo-Inc/felo-skills/tree/main/felo-superagent and put it in ~/.qoderwork/skills/, then confirm the skill is loaded.

QoderWork

Placed felo-superagent in ~/.qoderwork/skills/ and confirmed it is loaded. The skill runs image work on a canvas and writes the exported files where you ask.

You

Make a figure for the process section of ~/Documents/proposal.docx. Three directions, A4 and thumbnail, and stop before exporting.

QoderWork

Three directions ready, shown at print size and as a thumbnail. Nothing has been written into the document yet.

What ends up on disk

  • ~/.qoderwork/skills/felo-superagent/The bundle is only the brief and the export step; the run itself lives on the canvas, which is why a long job survives a closed app.
  • ~/.qoderwork/skills/The root it matches from. QoderWork picks a skill by its description, so a short list makes the matching predictable rather than clever.
Then ask it to account for itselfWhich image files did you write, and where did you put them?
What you get back

A run with states you can check on, next to a document that keeps moving

The document is yours to edit; the image is a job that takes longer than a conversation. Keeping the run on a canvas is what lets both proceed without one blocking the other.

  1. Running

    Reading the brief

A figure for a proposal, printed on A4 and viewed in a PDF, and it must still read as a thumbnail in the email that carries it.

  2. Running

    Three directions

A chart-led figure using the document's own numbers, a diagram of the process it describes, and a restrained typographic treatment.

  3. Blocked

    Waiting on your call

The diagram direction needs to know whether the interim step is included. That is a question about your argument, not about design, so it stops.

  4. Done

    Exported beside the document

PNG and SVG written to the folder the document lives in, so the next revision can replace the file rather than re-describe the brief.

In practice

Two requests that keep the asset next to the file

Both name the document, so the output lands beside the thing it belongs to instead of in a downloads folder.

Type thisMake a figure for the process section of ~/Documents/proposal.docx. Show three directions at print size and thumbnail, and stop before exporting. What comes back

Three candidates judged at both sizes, held for your pick rather than written into the document.

Type thisExport the second direction at 300 dpi into the same folder as the document, and keep the SVG too. What comes back

Files beside the document at the sizes the workflow needs, with a format that can be edited later.

The routine

Getting a figure into a document without a design round trip

Constraints, directions, pick, export. The document is edited throughout, which is why the run is kept separate.

Runs when

A document is nearly finished and a section needs a figure, a cover, or a diagram that does not exist yet.

  1. 01

    Write the brief as constraints

Say where the file is, how it will be seen — A4, screen, a thumbnail in an email — and what the section argues. The run cannot check its work against a brief it was not given.

  2. 02

    Ask for directions

Three options at the sizes that matter. The A4 test and the thumbnail test catch different failures, and both are cheap now.

  3. 03

    Answer the blocked question

When the run stops to ask whether a step belongs in the diagram, that is a question about your document. Answer it rather than letting the run guess.

  4. 04

    Export into the document's folder

Keep the SVG as well as the PNG. The next revision will want to change the colours, and re-briefing the image is slower than editing a file.

Leaves behindImage files beside the document at the sizes it uses, plus a run that remembers what the document already rejected.

Check it worked

Three checks before the asset goes into the file

Everything here is local, so the checks are quick and worth doing before a document leaves your machine.

1

The files are where you asked

Check the folder next to the document. An asset that lands somewhere else is one you will re-generate by accident in a month.

2

It survives both sizes

Look at it at print size and as a thumbnail. Most figures fail at one of the two, and the failure is obvious once you check.

3

The document still opens clean

Embedding an image should not restructure the file. Compare the section layout before and after if anything looks different.

FAQ

What QoderWork users ask about Felo SuperAgent

Does the run stop if I close the app?
The canvas holds the state, so the work is not tied to an open window. You come back to the same run rather than starting a new one.
Where do the images go?
Wherever you ask, which should be the folder the document lives in. Naming it explicitly is the habit that keeps assets findable.
Can it match our existing template?
Give it the constraint — colours, margins, the font the document uses. It will not read your brand guidelines by itself, so those belong in the brief.
Is it a replacement for a designer?
No. It gets a document to a usable figure and tells you what it could not decide, which is the part worth a person's judgement.
