Felo YouTube Subtitling on WorkBuddyWorkBuddy

Turn the webinar you saved into a note you can quote

Industry talks and product webinars are the most common source people mean to read and never do. This skill turns the recording into text, so the interesting five minutes are findable instead of buried at 00:41:00.

What you get back

A summary up front, the transcript underneath

You read the summary. The transcript is there for the moment somebody asks what was actually said, and for the quotes that carry a different meaning than a paraphrase would.

04:12Analyst

The category grew, but almost all of that growth came from the two cheapest tiers.

09:47Analyst

Premium buyers were not downgrading. They were simply not being replaced when they left.

16:30Host

Does that hold outside the coastal cities?

16:52Analyst

The pattern is weaker inland, and we are honest about that in the appendix.

23:05Analyst

Watch the second quarter. If premium does not recover by then, the model changes.

Premium buyers were not downgrading. They were simply not being replaced when they left.
The line worth putting in the document, because it changes what the reader should track next quarter.
In practice

Two ways to use a talk you did not attend

One makes it findable, the other makes it usable in a document.

Type thisSummarise this webinar for someone who missed it, then give me the three claims I should check before repeating them. What comes back

A useful summary plus a short list of the claims that need a second source before they go in a document.

Type thisFind every mention of pricing in this talk and quote them with timestamps. What comes back

A focused extract, which is usually what you actually needed from a ninety-minute recording.

Read this before you quote it

Three ways a quote misleads

Transcripts feel authoritative because they are verbatim. That is also what makes them easy to misuse.

A sentence can lose its caveat

Speakers qualify themselves after the point, not before. Pull the paragraph, not the sentence, when the quote is going in front of a decision-maker.

Charts never make it into the text

The most important slide of the talk is usually a chart the speaker talked over. The transcript will not have the numbers, so ask for the deck too.

Auto-captions mangle the nouns

Product and company names are the first casualties. Search for the idea rather than the brand when you are looking through the result.

Add it on WorkBuddy

Import once, use it on every recording

This is the skill people install for one specific video and then keep. WorkBuddy treats it like any other package, with no unusual permissions.

  1. 01

    Take the skill folder

Get the felo-youtube-subtitling folder from the repository. Nothing outside the folder is required to install it.

  2. 02

    Import under Skills

Skills → Add skill → Upload skill. Check that the permissions list mentions network access and nothing else.

  3. 03

Run it on the video you have been putting off

Pick the longest one on your list. It is the best test of whether the summary is worth the wait on your material.

Then check a quote against the recordingPull the transcript from this webinar and give me the three most quotable findings with their timestamps.
FAQ

What WorkBuddy users ask about recordings

Does it work on internal recordings?
Only if the link resolves without a login. For an internal call, export the recording's caption file and work from that instead — the skill will read a file just as happily.
How does this differ from the platform's own summary feature?
The transcript and its timestamps come back with the summary, so a reader can verify a claim rather than trust a paragraph. That difference matters the moment a document leaves your team.
Can it handle a playlist?
One video per call is the reliable way. For a series, run them one at a time and ask the assistant to keep a running document, so a failure halfway through does not lose the earlier work.
